    Supplies

    • An empty and clean pickle jar
    • White acrylic paint or spray paint
    • Black and orange acrylic paint (for the face)
    • A small paintbrush and sponge brush
    • Black buttons
    • Red and black plaid fabric (for the scarf)
    • A small black top hat (or craft materials to make one)
    • Hot glue gun and glue sticks
    • Artificial snow (optional)
    • Mod Podge (for a glossy finish)

    Instructions

    Step 1: Prepare the Jar

Make sure your pickle jar is thoroughly cleaned and dried. Remove any labels and glue residue for a smooth surface.

    Step 2: Paint the Jar

Using a sponge brush, apply a coat of white acrylic paint to the entire jar. Let it dry completely, then apply a second coat for full coverage. For a glossy, finished look, seal it with a layer of Mod Podge.

Step 3: Create the Snowman’s Face

With black acrylic paint, carefully paint two round eyes and a dotted smile on the front of the jar. Then, use orange paint to create a carrot-shaped nose. Allow the paint to dry before moving on.

    Step 4: Add the Buttons

Using a hot glue gun, attach two or three black buttons vertically down the front of the snowman’s body.

    Step 5: Make the Scarf

Cut a strip of red and black plaid fabric and tie it around the neck of the jar, creating a cozy scarf.

    Step 6: Attach the Hat

If you have a small black top hat, simply glue it onto the lid of the jar. If you’re making one, craft a hat using black felt or cardstock and secure it in place.

Step 7: Add Snowy Details (Optional)

For an extra festive touch, sprinkle a bit of artificial snow around the base of the jar or lightly dab white paint around the edges for a frosty effect.
